Willard Libby

American physical chemist (1908–1980) whose role in the 1949 development of radiocarbon dating, a process which revolutionized archaeology and palaeontology, awarded him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1960. Glossy 8.25 x 10 close-up portrait of Libby, signed in the lower left in blue fountain pen, “With best regards, W. F. Libby.” In very good condition, with scattered overall creasing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
