TLS, one page, 7 x 10, Brooklyn Dodgers letterhead, June 10, 1943. Letter to G. Lynn Sumner. In part: “And thanks much, too, for the Lincoln reproduction gravure which you have so kindly sent me. I shall have it framed and hang it hereabouts…Mr. Leland of Detroit had a number of these photographs, having made, as I understand it, an exhaustive search for the original which was supposed to be the only photograph of Mr. Lincoln which Mrs. Lincoln kept by her bedside for some years.” Matted and framed with an original press photo of Rickey and Jackie Robinson in which the Lincoln photo can be seen in the background.
