John and I were permitted to have lunch with Ike today. It is wonderful having John here —he is such a morale booster for Ike, Nana and me. It was good to say ‘hello’ to Frank on the telephone, and I was sorry his time was so short that I did not have a chance to see him.” Mamie makes a single handwritten emendation. In fine condition.
