American silent film actress (1894-1961), she appeared with Valentino in Blood and Sand and the silent Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Lengthy ALS signed “Naldi,” sixteen pages on eight sheets, 6 x 9.25, Hotel Wentworth letterhead, July 12, 1959. Letter to Lathrop Mitchell, in part: “According to Jean de Chant—he is dead—God have mercy on his soul—& I hope those cruel sadistic interns & male attendants were not too horrifying to Little Brown Betty before & after his demise—those Giggle house attendants can be too terrifying—they deliberately dedicate themselves to a career & profession where they can practice their sadistic routines & make themselves feel important at the expense of some pathetic subject like Little Brown Betty who was helpless in their clutches.” In fine condition, with an edge tear, slight soiling, and toned tape remnants to first page, and some of the handwriting overlapping and difficult to read. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Naldi’s own hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
