World War I Aces

Two biographical sheets of World War I aces Douglas Campbell and Arthur Raymond Brooks, both 5 x 8, signed below their respective images in pencil, “Douglas Campbell” and “A. Raymond Brooks.” The Campbell sheet, in part: “On 14 April 1918, Campbell and fellow pilot Alan Winslow were on alert at Toul, France, where two German planes were sighted. They raced to their Neuport 28s, took off, and within five minutes each had scored a victory. These were the first ‘kills’ by members of an American squadron in World War I.” The Brooks sheet, in part: “On 14 September 1918, while outnumbered eight to one, he downed two Fokker D–VII aircraft from the famed Richthofen Circus and became an ace.” Both are individually matted and framed to an overall size of 13.75 x 16.75. In overall fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
