Description

Ron Evans

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, May 25, 1985. Letter to Tony, in part: “I have decided to start my own business. Motivating and entertaining people about our Nation’s space program as a part time public speaking avocation has been most enjoyable for me. Thus, the decision to leave Sperry and pursue this vocation in conjunction with some consulting assignments. Also, my unique VHS or BETA video cassette entitled ‘Let’s Fly To The Moon’ has been developed. During the first 33 minutes of this video you go with me on a vicarious flight to the moon. The next 27 minutes is the NASA Apollo 17 film entitled ‘On the Shoulders of Giants’ showing actual film, video and pictures taken during the flight of Apollo 17…Jan and I plan to stay in Scottsdale and enjoy life as soon as I recover from ruptured disc surgery. The new venture appears exciting and potentially rewarding for both of us. Any business referrals will be most appreciated.” Evans adds a brief handwritten postscript, signed “Ron,” in full: “Tony—The video is just for you—Ha!” In fine condition. Pre-certified Zarelli Space Authentication.
