Chester A. Arthur

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 23 x 19, January 25, 1884. President Arthur appoints John F. Hazelton of Wisconsin as “Consul of the United States of America, at Hamilton, Canada.” Handsomely signed at the conclusion by President Arthur and countersigned by Secretary of State Frederick T. Frelinghuysen. The crisp white seal affixed to the lower left remains fully intact. Intersecting folds with tiny holes at intersections, light toning and soiling, and expected document wear otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
