Sidney Smith.” Smith pens the lines on fear and hope that he wrote inside the door of his cell before escaping imprisonment in the tower of the Paris Temple: “Qui a peur du mal a deja le mal de la peur / Qui espere le bien a deja le bien de l'esperance.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds and light toning.
