Influential German evolutionist, morphologist, and developmental biologist (1834–1919). Two items: a 5.25 x 3.25 postcard photo of Heackel featuring a printed quote, signed and inscribed in black ink to Otto Schleuning; and the cover of a softcover edition of Die Weltrathsel, similarly signed and inscribed on the reverse. In overall very good condition, with scattered soiling, stray ink flecks, and small areas of surface loss to the postcard photo, and three horizontal folds to the book cover (one passing through the signature). Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
