Austrian composer (1843-1922) who was one of the fiercest rivals of the Strauss family. Vintage matte-finish 11 x 8.5 photo by C. H. Scolik of Vienna, affixed to its original 15.25 x 13 mount, depicting Ziehrer playing the piano under a portrait of Richard Wagner, signed and inscribed in fountain pen in the lower border and on the original mount, “To the Honorable Lord Director Leonhardstrasse in high respect, C. M. Ziehrer,” and dated May 25, 1913. In fine condition, with scattered light surface marks, and several dings to image along left side. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
