Henry Clay Work

American composer and songwriter (1832–1884) best known for his work produced during the Civil War. Unsigned AMQS on on off-white 10.5 x 3 sheet. Work pens nine measures of music and lyrics for the alto part of chorus of his song “Marching thro’ Georgia,” titling it in the upper left. The lyrics begin: “Hurrah! hurrah! we bring the jubilee; Hurrah! hurrah! the flag that makes you free.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
