Description

“The Sousa march is a household tune”

ALS, one page, 7.75 x 9.5, Grand Central Hotel, Adelaide letterhead, June 29, 1911. Letter to Mr. Presser. In part: “I am enclosing an interview I have written for the Adelaide (Australia) Advertiser. If you want to publish it go ahead. Our world tour is a tremendous success. Everybody knows my marches, it makes no difference whether we are ‘on the reef’…or in the jungles of Africa, or in the ‘bush’ of Australia the Sousa march is a household tune.” Overall toning and light show-through from an office stamp and docketing notation to reverse, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
