Description

Inscribed “with friendship, but please do what I say more” to Senator Pat Moynihan

Color satin-finish 8 x 10 photo of Bush standing and writing, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “To Pat Moynihan—On the back of an envelope Abe & I send you our greetings. With friendship, but please do what I say more.” Reverse is stamped, “Official Photograph, The White House, Washington, 15 MA 84.” In fine condition. Friends since the Nixon administration, during which Moynihan served as counselor on urban affairs and ambassador to India, Bush and Moynihan overcame their political differences and remained close throughout the former’s presidency. A charming personal inscription, giving a nod to their friendly yet adversarial relationship. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
