Description

John Philip Sousa

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Hotel Alexandria letterhead, October 17, 1911. Letter expressing his favorite concert venues to perform, in full: "There are certain places in the world where concert givers are most anxious to perform, and when they do, they ever afterward point with pride to that fact. Among the most famous are the Trocadero, in Paris, Queen's Hall, in London, and the Greek Theater, in Berkeley. As I have appeared in all of them, it is not difficult to see I am most happy, but the most unique and delightful to me is unquestionably the Greek Theater." In fine condition, with intersecting folds (passing through the signature) and partial separations to upper edge folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
