TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, April 7, 1953. Letter of thanks for a ham sent to the White House. In part: “The grand champion ham from the West Virginia 4-H Ham and Bacon Show is in good keeping in the White House larder…We will make sure that the ham is saved for a special feast. Perhaps you would give Lewis Bailey our congratulations on producing a grand champion.” In very good condition, with scattered toning and foxing. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope as well as the April 1, 1953, letter to Eisenhower presenting the ham. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
