Oscar-nominated, Russian-born actress (1876–1949) best remembered for her portrayal of Maleva, the old fortune teller in the 1941 horror classic The Wolf Man. Mailing envelope, 6.5 x 3.5, with a cachet of a movie camera, signed vertically in fountain pen, “Maria Ouspenskaya, 1600 No Martel, Hollywood 46, California.” In fine condition, with a bit of mild toning and a small clipped caption and photo affixed to reverse.
