A paycheck for the A’s first hitting instructor

Oakland A’s business check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed by John J. Fitzpatrick, payable to Joe DiMaggio for $120, April 9, 1968, endorsed on the reverse by DiMaggio. In fine condition, with one vertical fold and expected bank stamps. In 1968, DiMaggio returned to professional baseball for the first time since his retirement as a player, becoming the first hitting instructor of the newly relocated Oakland Athletics, where he remained until 1970.
