NASA research pilot (1926–1993) selected as an astronaut for the United States Air Force X-20 Dyna-Soar program in April 1960. After the Dyna-Soar program was canceled in 1963, he remained a NASA research pilot and flew the X-15 rocket plane. Glossy 10 x 8 photo of Thompson walking away from his plane, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “To Mike, Regards, Milt Thompson.” In fine condition.
