Description

The tenor sax legend’s jet-setting passport

Jazz musician (1923–1990) whose career spanned over forty years. Gordon’s personal passport, number 030193715, issued on August 11, 1982. Passport measures 3.5 x 5, and contains his typed personal information on the inside front cover, and is signed at the bottom of the adjacent page, “Dexter Gordon.” Affixed at the bottom of the personal information page is Gordon’s 1.5 x 1.75 color passport snapshot. Some of the pages bear visa stamps from around the world, dated between 1982 and 1985, including those from Japan, Canada, Jamaica, France, Finland, Bermuda, and England. In fine condition, with two punch holes to front cover and expected light handling wear. Gordon had enjoyed a resurgence in popularity after his return from Europe in 1976, releasing several more albums and appearing in several films, including garnering an Academy Award nomination for the 1986 film Round Midnight.
