Letter of thanks to Mr. Childs. In part: “The magnificent gift which you have sent to our dear little Esther came safely to her today. And I want to hasten to thank you. The things are very beautiful and very useful and I (now—as will she in the future) appreciate them truly—but the nicest thing in the whole matter is that you cared to send her your own face in silver—on the spoon…The President joins me in messages of remembrance & good will to you both.” In fine condition, with a few small blocks of light toning.
