Tamara Karsavina

Russian ballerina (1885–1978) renowned for her beauty, most noted as a Principal Artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet and later the Ballets Russes of Serge Diaghilev. After settling in England, she began teaching ballet professionally and would become recognized as one of the founders of modern British ballet. Lovely vintage 3.25 x 5.25 postcard photo of the Russian beauty, signed and inscribed in black ink, “A monsieur Harry Rice, Tamara Karsavina.” In very good condition, with a central diagonal crease and light scattered creases and soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
