Distinguished actor (1907–1952) who pioneered roles for African Americans on stage and in film. A vocal civil rights activist, he found himself on the Hollywood blacklist during the second ‘Red Scare.’ Stagebill featuring an image of Lee in the Studebaker Theater production of Richard Wright’s Native Son, 6 x 9.25, signed and inscribed on the front cover in fountain pen “To Cecile, Sincerely, Canada Lee.” Also signed inside by members of the supporting cast. In fine condition, with some mild marks and creases. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
