Beloved Canadian actress (1868–1934) who, as a middle-aged ex-vaudevillian, became one of the biggest screen draws of the silent and early sound eras, winning an Academy Award for her performance in Min and Bill (1930). Vintage matte-finish 6 x 9.75 photo of Dressler dressed as a jester, signed in fountain pen, “Hush not a word above a whisker [sic], I got a new hat from Tappe, Marie Dressler.” Noticeable creases, a few affecting signature and sentiment, light soiling, and some silvering to darker areas of image, otherwise very good condition.
