John Heydler

Baseball umpire in the 1890s who later became the president of the National League. DS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.5 x 11, January 7, 1931. Player’s contract between Pittsburgh and Lee Johnson for a period of one year for a salary of $350.00 per month, with Pittsburgh also paying for Johnson’s transportation home at the end of the season. Signed at the conclusion by Johnson and a Pittsburgh official, and signed by Heydler on the docketing panel approving the agreement. In fine condition, with uniform toning and a bit of scattered light soiling. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
