The other disturbing element was when I began to talk about Mr. Zukor and yesteryear, I actually couldn’t go on because of the choking lump in my throat…One of the most outstanding moments of the evening was when you whispered to me that my acting of fifty years ago was as modern as the methods used today.” Under her signature, Pickford adds a short postscript which reads, “I thought that this might amuse you, Mr. Musgrove said over the phone that ‘George Cukor’ ramrodded the whole thing.” In fine condition.
