Actor, teacher, and lecturer (1864–1935) who became extremely well-known after playing "de Lawd" in more than 1,650 performances of Marc Connelly’s play, The Green Pastures, which opened on Broadway in 1930. Vintage sepia glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mr. Alex Freidenberg, Sincerely, Richard B. Harrison ‘De Lawd’ in The Green Pastures.” In fine condition, with some light creasing to top left, lightly affecting small portion of inscription.
