TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, December 4, 1954. Williams writes Gale Tuggle at Florida State University regarding the merits of weight lifting to aid a baseball career. “I believe that weight lifting would not hurt anyone but I think the most important thing in an outfielder’s favor is to be able to hit. I in turn, think that the most important part of his body is the arms and wrists. I personally can’t think of a better exercise than to swing a bat, about twice as heavy as the one he would use in the game, and swing it as if he were swinging it in the game. If I had to do two exercises to help me get into shape, it would be the above exercise and running.” A couple of creases, wrinkling, a horizontal fold touching the top letter of his first name, and some toning, a bit heavier along the far left edge, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Sound advise from one of baseball’s greatest hitters! Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
