Actor (1873-1959) who played the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz play that premiered in 1902. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Radio Pictures publicity photo, credited to Bachrach, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Fred Stone ‘Lightnin,’” a reference to his Broadway role of ‘Lightnin’ Bill Jones. Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of October 28, 1938, the date the signature was acquired. Scattered light creases and surface marks, otherwise fine condition.
