One of the hardest working character actors (1887–1972), he worked right up until his death. He appeared in such films as A Christmas Carol, Mary Poppins and A Tale of Two Cities. He was also one of only four actors to play both Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 MGM publicity photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, with best wishes, Reginald Owen.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of July 29, 1940, the date the signature was acquired. In fine condition, with a couple light surface marks and creases. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
