In part (translated): 'I have received your very kind letter, it touches me keenly and I thank you for it. I have also reached 75 years, and I suffer from chronic pains of the vertebral column, which is a bit inconvenient, but which does not prevent me from working…at my paintings…I have made some trips to New York and I like this wonderful city very much.
