Peter Pan's author abroad: "Conceive me now in gondolas … and showing a knowledge of Venice that astonishes"

Scottish author and dramatist (1860–1937) best known for the classic children’s play Peter Pan. ALS signed 'J.M.B.,' one page, 5.75 x 7.5, Hotel Royal Danieli, Venezia letterhead, May 15. Letter to Elizabeth. In full: 'Conceive me now in gondolas, and Frank in his element; and showing a knowledge of Venice that astonishes Miss Bergnar. The hotel is on the grand canal and the place astonishingly beautiful. We shall be away a bit longer than I expected - ten days or so, as we don’t go to Cortina till the end of the week. This is just to say that I hope you are getting better.' Top left portion of letter is affixed to a 6.25 x 4 album page. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, a few creases and wrinkles, and scattered light toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
