Eminent British writer (1866–1946) who pioneered the science fiction genre with such classic novels as The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and The Invisible Man. Vintage matte-finish 6 x 8.25 photo, signed in fountain pen. Circular stain on his collar, speckling to the emulsion, a faint paperclip impression at the top edge, and mild contrast to his signature against the dark background, otherwise fine condition. Wells is not common in signed photos, particularly of this size. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
