ALS signed “Wallis Windsor,” one page both sides, 6 x 4.5, November 22. Letter of thanks to Louella Parsons. In full: “Here I am again with my very inadequate pen. This time it is to say thank you for the lovely flowers—They got divorced from your note and have just walked in, in all their beauty.” In fine condition, with a central vertical fold and a uniform shade of mild toning. As one of the first US gossip columnists, Parsons worked for William Randolph Hearst for many years. Mr. Hearst was attempting to promote Wallis as a suitable ‘American Queen’ prior to the abdication. Miss Parsons covered the Windsor wedding for Hearst publications and continued a cordial relationship with the Duchess. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
