Scarce ‘brown’ Standard Oil stock certificate signed by its founder

American entrepreneur (1839–1937) who entered the oil industry at the age of twenty-four and worked ruthlessly to unify his business interests into the powerful Standard Oil Trust. DS, signed “J. D. Rockefeller,” one page, 16 x 8, April 18, 1888. Scarce brown stock certificate for 100 shares of Standard Oil issued to W. C. Andrews, signed at the bottom, as president of Standard Oil, by Rockefeller.
