Flight-flown printed fabric American flag, 6 x 4, flown aboard Apollo 15 during its flight to the moon. Flag is affixed by its corners to a 10 x 12 certificate stating “This flag was flown aboard the first extended scientific exploration of the moon,” and signed in black felt tip by crew members Dave Scott, Al Worden, and Jim Irwin. Scott has also added a later inscription which reads, “The Cavanaughs–With best wishes–From Apollo 15.” The Cavanaughs ran a restaurant the astronauts frequented in Florida. In fine condition, with a few mild ripples to certificate and small squares of toning to each corner of flag from adhesive on reverse. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
