Lightweight boxing champion who held the World Lightweight Champion title 1914–1917. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo, signed and inscribed “To B. U. Pierce, With every good wish from Freddie Welsh (Lightweight Champion of the World). July 28, 1914.” In very good condition, with corner bends and creasing, a few scratches, emulsion crazing and chipping affecting a few letters of his name, staining and chipping to the inscription, and surface postal impressions.
