ALS in Italian, signed “Puccini,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 7, Grand Hotel de Londres, Paris letterhead, October 29, 1906. Letter to an unidentified maestro. In part (translated): “I’m here to stage Butt.…it won’t be ready before the end of November…and I can’t leave. I’m sorry—and I wish the greatest success to me and you. I was in Trieste…and I’d go back with pleasure, but I’m always busy elsewhere.” In fine condition, with uniform mild toning to pages and a central horizontal fold. A fine association between the composer and one of his best known works, which is now a staple of operatic repertory. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
