William McKinley

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 21 x 16, October 18, 1899. President McKinley appoints Benjamin Alvord an “Assistant Adjutant General of Volunteers with the rank of Major.” Signed at the conclusion by McKinley, and countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root. In very good condition, with some light brushing and feathering to signature, scattered light creases, and a light block of toning to right edge. The blue seal is worn, but intact. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
