Vintage matte-finish 10 x 8 photo of the Mercury 7 astronauts with a model of a rocket, signed and inscribed in blue ink by Grissom at the top right corner, “To Jennielou, Butch and Mike from ‘Uncle’ Gus.” In various inks all of the Mercury 7 astronauts have signed along the bottom border “Alan B. Shepard, Jr.,” “Walter M. Schirra, Jr.,” “John H. Glenn, Jr.,” “Virgil I. Grissom,” “M. Scott Carpenter,” “Donald K. Slayton,” and “Leroy S. Cooper, Jr.” In fine condition, with a few chips, lightly trimmed side edges, and a light stain over Cooper’s middle initial. A seldom-seen intimately inscribed example of the Mercury 7 astronauts. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
