Fastest man to ever play the game

ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, James (Cool Papa) Bell Baseball League letterhead, March 26, 1978. Bell writes to an admirer listing several books available on the Negro League. In part: “Hope you can read my letter, sometimes cannot write. I have a nerve condition, and cand’t [sic] steady my hand…I’ll send you some copies of my baseball career.” In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, one through a single letter of signature, and Bell’s return address affixed near top.
