Brown took over as pitcher, and discovered that his handicap actually worked for him, as it impacted a sharper break to his curve ball. Endorsed J. S. Young, Jr. Oil Producer business check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed in another hand, payable to Brown for $50.00, June 3, 1931. Endorsed on the reverse, “Mordecai Brown.” A couple separations long three vertical folds, and expected cancellation holes and stamps, otherwise fine condition. From 1920 to 1945, Brown ran a filling station in Terre Haute, that also served as a town gathering place and an unofficial museum. Rare in any form.
