Walter Johnson

Johnson (1887–1946), whose famous deadly fastball earned him the nickname “Big Train,” was one of the first five original Hall of Fame inductees in 1936. In 1999, the Sporting News named him the fourth greatest player—the highest-ranked pitcher—of all time. Vintage 3 x 5 newspaper photo of a Gene Macks sketch of Johnson, signed in black ink. In very good condition, with irregular edges, several horizontal folds, scattered creases and wrinkles and some scattered edge loss. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
