Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 16 x 13, January 31, 1882. President Arthur appoints Charles W. Eckman to the position of Postmaster of Danville, Pennsylvania. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Arthur, and countersigned by Postmaster General Timothy Otis Howe. Matted to an overall size of 20.5 x 17.75. Intersecting storage folds, and some scattered light toning from ribbon, lightly affecting last name of signature, otherwise fine condition. The document’s gold foil seal is crisp and intact and the green ribbon is present. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
