Scarce bank draft signed by the man who would become America’s shortest-serving Chief Executive

Check, drawn on the Office of Discount & Deposit in Washington, 6.25 x 2, filled out and signed by Harrison, “W. H. Harrison,” payable to Mr. Clark for $30.00, January 23, 1827. Matted and framed with a vintage print of Harrison’s silhouette, to an overall size of 15.5 x 23.25. Scattered toning and soiling, and a cancellation cut through signature, otherwise fine condition. Harrison served as a Senator from 1825 to 1828. As chairman of the Military and Militia Committees, he advocated an increase in pay for soldiers and an expansion of the Navy.
