James Monroe

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 12.25 x 8, April 13, 1820. Monroe grants Jane Turner 169 acres in Zanesville, Ohio. Countersigned by the Commissioner of the General Land Office, Josiah Meigs. Matted, to an overall size of 18 x 14. In good condition, with heavy intersecting folds (two lightly affecting two letters of the signature), scattered light soiling and toning, and overall light creasing. Mounting traces of the red paper seal remain. Monroe’s signature is particularly bold. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
