Walt Kelly

Original hand-inked two-panel Pogo daily comic strip, dated August 15, 1962, on a 20 x 6.25 piece of artist’s cardstock. The strip depicts a young raccoon and tortoise eating bananas and the mother racoon asking if they think bananas grow on trees. Signed in the second panel, “Walt Kelly,” and signed and inscribed again in black ballpoint in the lower border, “For Robert, Best wishes from Walt Kelly.” In fine condition, with scattered light soiling and expected central vertical fold. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
