TLS in French, one page, 8.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, September 25, 1951. The founder of the International Style of architecture signed, and even corrected, the offered letter. The untranslated document mentions “the synthesis of the major arts, painting and sculpture.” Interestingly, a little known fact has it that Le Corbusier devoted his mornings to painting and sculpture; his architectural endeavors were reserved for the afternoons when he finally made his way to his office. And, demonstrating his proven attention to detail and editorial savvy (he was also an accomplished writer), Le Corbusier notated the piece and made editorial changes where he deemed necessary. In very good condition with intersecting folds and scattered wrinkling/creasing (heaviest at top). RRAuction COA.
