Vintage glossy 8 x 10 full-length photo of a strong, svelte Babe Ruth, clad in his Yankees road uniform, taking a practice swing during spring training, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Buster Bates from Babe Ruth.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 13.25 x 15.25. In good to very good condition, with noticeable creasing to left side (affecting portion of inscription; a couple of small creases lightly affecting last name of signature), scattered light creasing to remainder of photo, and a few trivial spots. Ruth’s large and bold signature is surprisingly clean and mostly unaffected by any flaws, and, coupled with the unusual pose and setting, lends itself to handsome display.
