Matte-finish 8.75 x 12.25 Harris & Ewing photo, signed and inscribed in ink as president, “For my friend and supporter Wm. F. Stone with grateful appreciation and best wishes, Wm. H. Taft, July 27th 1912.” Stone was Sergeant at Arms for the 1904 Republican National Convention, at which Taft’s onetime ally and 1912 election rival, Theodore Roosevelt, won the presidential nomination.
