Description

“We will never get things right if we use wrong descriptions of defects”

Two items: 1) ANS in pencil, signed Edison, on an undated letter sent to him by an employee, one lightly lined page both sides, 8.5 x 11, no date. Edison responds to a message regarding problems with the manufacture of records. In part: “The trouble is that you use wrong names. We get say 2 good working moulds then the 3rd one is bad & you report that it is due to pitted female. How could we get 2 OK moulds from a pitted female? Why don’t you study this more & cooperate with Folsom[?] We will never get things right if we use wrong descriptions of defects.” 2) ANS in pencil, “Boyd, Explain, E.,” at the foot of a one-page typed report headed “Final Rejects, New Working Moulds,” one lightly lined page, 8.25 x 10.75, August 3, 1921. In very good condition, with allover toning, and a few tears and chips to edges (not affecting writing). RRAuction COA.
